Elizabeth and John

May 27th, 2006

I had the chance to go down to the Binghamton area yesterday afternoon with Elizabeth and John (getting married on July 15th, so be on the lookout for images soon!) to check out the ceremony and reception sites.  Plus it was just nice to spend a couple hours together getting to hang out and have some fun.

We had to cross this very cool bridge on our way to the reception site so I thought I’d grab the camera and grab a quick shot.  Thanks for a very cool afternoon you two and I’ll see you real soon ;)

Cool Luke, the photo looks good. Binghamton in July is a nice place for a wedding :)

welcome Mallory

May 23rd, 2006

I want to congratulate fellow photographer and all around creative professional Michael Shultz and his wife on having their second child, Mallory Rose Schultz.  Mike is a friend from the Buffalo area who’s name all the Buffalo brides should become familiar with ;)

Congratulations to Michael and all of the Shultz family!!  Hope to see you soon Mike.

congrats to Linda, Christine, Jesse, and Matt

May 21st, 2006

No the header is not a mistake, the event this weekend was a double wedding!  Linda and Christine are the twin sisters of Julie Craigo from last August.  They both were married yesterday in a double wedding…. and to say it was interesting would be a slight understatement :)

I do want to say though, that despite how confusing it might sound, I thought the event went off flawlessly.  The formals were twice as long as usual (plus wardrobe changes no less), but other than that the night really wasn’t as different as I expected.

Both couples were a ton of fun, which is what I love of course, and the images reflect what a great vibe was present all night.

I’m just sad Eric and Sue don’t have anymore children left :(  C’mon Julie, Christine, and Linda… get to work!  LOL

Really though, it was a pleasure and I really do feel privileged to work with everyone involved once again.  Here is a large sampling (can’t even believe how many images I have to go through)….

PS – A big time special thank you to the Frank DiMeo for coming out last night :)  Frank continues to blow me away (along with everyone else he comes in contact with) whenever I shoot with him.  I haven’t seen his images yet, but feel free to check his blog as I’m sure he will put something up as well.

Julie, Brian, and me

May 21st, 2006

Another wedding, another picture of me with a former couple.  I love getting weddings because of word of mouth or previous work (or both), they always turn out to be some of the best weddings and the prospective clients are already in love with me before the first email.  Plus I get to see former couples like Julie and Brian at the wedding.  Like with most weddings I spent most of my time talking with Julie before the wedding, but between Linda and Christine’s rehearsal and wedding this weekend I actually had the chance to visit with Brian more, which was a nice change.

It was a pleasure seeing you both again, and I’m glad to hear married life is treating you well :)

Ali and Matt bridal shoot

May 18th, 2006

I had the chance to do a bridal shoot with Ali and Matt the other day, and we had a ton of fun!!  Bridal shoots are some of my favorite shoots since it allows us to shoot with no schedule or pressure… we just get to be completely spontaneous and do whatever we want.  They always create some of the best images, and I’m glad to see more and more couples doing them.  Here are some of my favorites from Tuesday…

I had the pleasure of shooting with our frequent blog guest Alisha Nelson this weekend, on short notice, and it was an amazing weekend!!  Getting to shoot with Ali is always a pleasure as her intuitive style of photojournalism is beautiful.  Plus her and I have become very close so it was a great chance to have some fun and do what we love…. photograph beautiful couples :)

Sorry this is short but I’m right back out the door again, images to come around Wednesday or so from another shoot.

  1. Frank DiMeo:

You know, it has been said that a photograph actualy comes from within, and is an extension of the person taking it. Everything the photographer has ever learned or experienced contributes something to the creation of the image. If it isn’t inside the photographer, it isn’t in the photos. You must have a lot of love inside of you because it is more than evident in the photos.

  2. jason groupp:

nice shots bro! with all the traveling you are doing you might have to start blogging by mobile phone! :)

  3. Ali:

The pleasure was all MINE!!! That’s for coming on such short notice! You are amazing and everyone at the wedding just loved you. What a lucky couple.
I don’t know what I would do without you in my life.
Have a great trip to NYC.
    xoxo.

  4. megan:

I love the “Where the Wild Things Are” shot… it looks like all the characters are watching them singing “…k-i-s-s-i-n-g!” or something. Nice :)

  5. crystal:

Awesome, fun engagements! I love that wall!

  6. Jasmine:

Luke…how awesome are you!?! So, if I had a second shooter flake out on me at the last minute, would you fly to Southern Cali to help me shoot? :)

Is it just me or is this couple incredibly adorable???

engagement shoot with Frank

May 8th, 2006

Tonight I joined Frank DiMeo on an engagement shoot with an amazing couple, Becky and Rob.  We started on The Commons, and the shoot was filled with fun (for us all) almost from the first shutter release.  The best part about the entire shoot (besides getting to become friends with Becky and Rob) was the creative freedom we had, and when I get to post these images you all will see why.  We joked about this on the shoot, but when most people think engagement in Ithaca they think the parks or the lake or the waterfalls…. but when getting together with Frank and I you get a dumpster or a beat up couch we "borrowed" from the front porch of a frat house!  :)  Images will be posted soon, but here is a filler of the 4 of us while I work on the images.  It was such a pleasure to meet and shoot Becky and Rob, and of course to shoot along side "the" Frank DiMeo.

  1. Becky Bean:

dude – you forgot to mention shooting in the cemetery! What a wild time. You guys were awesome, and we had so much fun. Thanks so much for working wiith us yesterday. It didn’t feel like an “engagement shoot”, which, to me personally, sounds kind of stuffy and superfluous. It was much more like a “personal-photo-adventure-extravaganza”!!!!

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the shoot and what a great experience it was. It was a thrill to watch you and Frank work and to be a part of the creative process. I’m so sincerely happy that we were able to spend the evening with you both. Thanks again.

  2. Frank DiMeo:

    You were on Fire Bro!
Man, it just keeps getting better and better when we hook up!
Can’t wait for the 20th, we are going to rock that wedding too.
Becky, you and Rob were awesome, AWESOME!
Thanks Luke, Becky, and Rob for the great images, and tons of fun.

  3. Ali:

Can’t WAIT til I have the chance to Shoot with frank! He is so freakin’ awesome!!!

  4. Tj Cameron:

looks like you guys had a good time. sweet images too!! this is strange… when i click Frank’s link, his site comes up but the address in the addy bar is your blog addy and the page title is ‘Luke Walker Big TIme Photo Guy’, or close to that. :)

congrats to Cynthia and Andre

May 7th, 2006

I had the pleasure of photographing Cynthia and Andre’s wedding yesterday up near Oswego, right on the beautiful shore of Lake Ontario.  The rain and gloom were in full effect from the time I woke up until I arrived at Cynthia’s place, but once the ceremony started the weather broke and we had some nice weather and a beautiful sunset to play with.  The ceremony was supposed to be outside, which obviously didn’t happen, but in all honesty I’ll trade an indoor ceremony for the sunset we had at the end of the night seven days a week!  Thanks so much for having me at your wedding you two, here is a sampling of the images…

This is Cynthia’s mother. These photos are beautiful !! Guest feedback, from the wedding : everyone that looked at your slide show thought that you were just amazing…..where did you find him ? You are not only gifted but you are so easy to work with……pleasant & flexible. We strongly recommend you !!!
