This is SO cool! You two are beautiful!

Jessica + Adam

July 27th, 2009

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing another beautiful wedding in Saratoga Springs. I love shooting up in the area and it always provides us a ton of opportunities for awesome images. I just posted Jess and Adam’s wedding trailer in the entry before this, but here are the pics…
I loved the flower Jessica had put on her Vineyard dress (from Lily Saratoga)

I’m always a sucker for a read head!

One of my favorite parts of the wedding ceremony

I loved her ring (props Adam!)

A good toast always gives us a great chance for photos. As a general tip to all people who are giving toasts and looking for advice… keep it short and from the heart.

One of my favs…

Unfortunately as most of you have already seen in their video, the rain never stopped the entire day. Usually it breaks for at least a couple minutes and we can sneak out… but not so much this time. Nevertheless the portraits must go on!
blog5
I love how romantic this series turned out
blog2
Thanks so much for having us at your wedding you two, and for being such good sports in the rain! Also, I’d like to thank all of the guests who brought their best party face for the photobooth we had set up. What a blast this is when our couples have us do this!

Jessica and Adam: Saratoga wedding video

July 23rd, 2009

I’m back from yet another destination wedding (wait until you see these shots!), but before I dive back into the thick of things I want to share the video of a wedding Chris and I shot before I left. You may remember Jessica and Adam from their e-shoot earlier this year, as they’ve become our little local celebs over here, and last Friday we were able to shoot their wedding. Unfortunately it rained almost literally the entire day non-stop. That’s the bad news. The good news however is we were able to take that and turn it into something really, really awesome. Check out the video to see what I mean….

    Great Job!!

  3. Jessica:

BEAUTIFUL! You guys are the BEST AROUND! I can’t wait to see more! Thanks for the awesome work!

  4. Susie:

I’m in tears! That was gorgeous – I could feel the love and the rain gave it that Breakfast at Tiffany’s feeling at the end of the movie! To a life filled with much love and happiness! Luke – you are amazing! Could i post is on my blog???

  5. Cyd:

ahhhhh! As always, absolutely amazing! I hope you guys had a fun time in Bermuda!

Luke Walker + Alisha Clark the wedding!

July 9th, 2009

Finally, what so many of you (mostly family) have been waiting for! Here is the extremely extended blog version of mine and Alisha’s wedding :) I’m going to jump right into this because there are a lot of pictures…

First we had the rehearsal dinner on Monday night, which was a blast. It was an absolutely perfect night and we were hoping we didn’t use all of our weather mojo on the rehearsal. The paparazzi were at it full effect even on Monday night, but it was worth it for shots like this.
img_8626
After the festivities were over Alisha and Sabrina had planned for everyone to have s’mores by the campfire. It was an intense set up with strawberry, coconut, vanilla bean, and banana flavored smores!
img_8690
It was an awesome night and a great time. Because our ceremony was at 5:30pm the next day, I had all day to hang out at the house with friends and family. We tossed the football around, had some lunch, Frank and I went for a swim, it couldn’t have been more fun with so many of our close friends just hanging out.

While I was outside swimming in the lake Alisha was upstairs getting ready

I LOVE this shot of Alisha and her sister Liz

Once Alisha put on her dress she was looking smokin!
img_9175
Jen Davis caught 2 awesome moments here, the first is Alisha and Lillie before the ceremony
037
And this shot of Alisha coming down for the ceremony…
030
Because we had a vintage theme to our wedding, Alisha rented these totally unique vintage umbrellas for guests who wanted some shade
031
They looked great during the ceremony!
img_9310
And yes I cried when Alisha came down the aisle. Ok you got me, it was A LOT! I particularly like this shot though because of my mother watching on so proud :))

Lillie was the perfect flower girl coming down the aisle :)

We really wanted to make sure Lillie was a part of our ceremony since she’s obviously such a huge part of our lives, so we brought her over and gave her this necklace during the ceremony. It was important to me that she be a part of the marriage ceremony. You can see how proud I am of her.

When you get a chance to get snuggly with the bride, you take advantage :)

img_9397
Now on to my favorite part of every wedding… the formals! Just kidding, the relaxed bridal portraits of course. This has HUGE canvas gallery wrap in our living written all over it.

Very cool shot here as well
img_0035
For those of you who have been to the EB Morgan House, we brought in and hung japanese lanterns in front of the house which I really liked
img_9728
I couldn’t resist, I had to make someone take a picture of us with this fence
082
For those of you wondering… no I couldn’t leave the camera alone the entire day. I know I know, it was brief but I had to get some stuff of Alisha. Here is Chris and I shooting next to each other (at my own wedding… good stuff)
img_9944
I’m not really huge on formals, but this is awesome :)
img_9427
What an awesome shot of Lillie and her friend Wilton right??!

Our reception site looked amazing, huge props to Alisha, Sabrina, and Heather for pulling it all together. This is exactly what I set out to have from the beginning, I drove Alisha to the Aurora Inn myself to sell her on this exact picture below. Her and the 2 ladies I just mentioned pulled it all together and put the finishing touches on it to make it even better than I had hoped for.

Here are some of the details…

Alisha did a great job collecting the antique hobnail containers you see here to line the tables

Time for the dancing…. we chose the song “Waste” by Phish as our first dance song. I was surprised I didn’t cry, it might have been the only time all day ;)
088
My Dad was my best man since he is my best friend, and he gave an awesome speech (much to my surprise!)
erer
Alisha had been growing her hair for months for the wedding so she had something to work with, but I really like her with short hair. A lot. So as a surprise she snuck away and had her haircut while I was burning up the dance floor
qwqw
Sabrina drove her back to the reception in her new dress and her hair change (that’s weird to type)…
bnn
Alisha looked beautiful in her new outfit

We partied well into the night!

HUGE thank you to our official photographers JASON GROUPP and JENNIFER DAVIS for all of their amazing photographs. Two of our good friends, and they absolutely blew us away with their talent.

A big thank you also needs to go out to our in-house videographer, and good friend, Chris Bruno for kicking some major ass with our video.

Also, in case you haven’t seen the video here is the trailer Chris put together….

Thank you for re-living the day with us, I cannot put into words what a truly awesome experience it was. Without a doubt the best day of my life and I’m so glad I get to share it with so many people.

Hey Luke and Alisha, Linda and I are still reminiscing about how fabulous every facet of your wedding was. From the ceremony, to all the amazing details that you included, to one of the most amazing meals I’ve ever had at a wedding reception. it was a wedding we’ll always remember as being in a class of its own. We really appreciated the fact that we were invited to be guests. We wish you both the best and hope you enjoy all the richness that marriage can bring to a relationship. Hope to see you guys again before the summers end.

Show and Tell with Lily Saratoga

July 6th, 2009

The Show and Tell sessions return! I always enjoy the chance to sit down with a business who I have a lot of respect for and give them a chance to chat with our audience. Recently Chris and I sat down with Lily Saratoga Bridal Salon because I really like what they are doing up there. Carrying Vineyard (by POB) and Jim Hjelm in this market is a great idea, it shows style and good taste at a reasonable budget. Combine that with the passion of the owners and you can see why I felt like this was our newest Show and Tell business. Thanks for looking!
