Our storefront launch invitations

November 28th, 2009

While we were planning the christening of the new Clark+Walker Studio abode, Rebecca over at The Pink Orange came up with the idea to send out these fabulous printed invitations:

Even being a newer school photographer who grew up in the digital age, I still have a great appreciation for a beautifully printed piece of artwork in your hands. We were proud to send these out to represent our new branding (and even kept a couple for ourselves I admit!)

Sweet! They look so darn good sitting on that sassy couch. Thanks again for the kudos!

Happy Holidays!

November 26th, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving to all the people out there laying on their couches with family+friends and waiting for the Lions game.  Ops, I guess that’s just me waiting for the Lions game :)  Anyway we just wanted to say this year we are thankful for so many of the couples out there that choose to work with us.  We know you have a lot of options, there are a lot of people who offer photo+video, but we’re thankful that you choose to work with us and allow us into your lives.  It’s been our dream since we met to have our business turn into exactly what it’s become and not a day goes by that we don’t appreciate how cool of a job we have, and how lucky we are to have worked with so many awesome couples out there.  Here’s a fun group shot I just captured at the Hall of Springs recently since I can’t leave you without some sort of photo :)

Kate also bakes wedding cakes too! So she baked all the ‘centerpieces’ for guests to take home! How awesome is that? I wish I could take a cake home at every wedding!

Our new storefront is launched!

November 20th, 2009

Whew, what an awesome night! Last night as many of you know, we officially opened the doors of our new storefront studio in downtown Troy. Because the place we took had so much natural beauty we didn’t have to do a ton to it, but we still had to add our own personal touches to the place. We were extremely excited about the finished product and had to invite so many of our friends in and around Upstate to come celebrate with us. We had a great turnout and even more importantly the crowd that was there was exactly the type of people we wanted to spend the night chatting with and sharing drinks with. First a couple shots of the new space…

We LOVE this huge windows in the front of the store that face the street and knew we wanted to do something special with them once we moved in. Because we are in the antique district of Troy we wanted to add some local flavor and decided to do a window display with vintage antique, rustic frames. So far it’s been a huge hit.
IMG_3123
The tags on the gift bags were done by Rebecca Ashby over at the Pink Orange, who simply amazed us throughout the party planning process.
IMG_3165
Our production manage Dawn did a phenomenal job coordinating the party and visioning the decor with Alisha
IMG_3162
What’s a party without food!
IMG_3166
The Clark+Walker crew had to pose for a quick shot before things got out of hand
IMG_3361
Rebecca, who also sponsored the party, had a chance to mingle and have some fun too :)
IMG_3280
Our other sponsor, WellWed Magazine, was represented by none other than Krista Washburn who is the mind behind the company.
IMG_3358
Honestly from the time we opened the doors the place was pretty full and it went all the way until past the end time
IMG_3275
We were stoked to see Sarah Chilson and her husband Dave representing the One Reputation posse at the party
IMG_3277
Alisha’s BFFs Katie and Deborah from the newly launched Katie O Events were both looking hot
IMG_3310
We had our signature La-Vie albums out on display for people to drool on
IMG_3201
Always a pleasure to see our good friends JP Elario from Joe Elario Photography and Kris Ann (soon to be Elario) from Fleurtacious
IMG_3365
There are of course a ton more people, but we did try and actually network some too :) Thanks so much for everyone who came out and I hope everyone had even half as much fun as me.

Yvette + Sean Ithaca Wedding Trailer! Congrats!

November 13th, 2009

Have you ever been in a situation where you’re viewing lots and lots of great wedding footage and wish you had been there? Well, that’s exactly what happened when I put Yvette + Sean’s trailer together!

Being that I’ve spent a great deal of time in Ithaca, creating this trailer has been nothing short of nostalgic for me. Perhaps it’s time for me to take another trip down there soon!

Congratulations Yvette and Sean! Thanks for giving me the privilege of being able to create this piece. I greatly look forward to creating your DVD!

Aloha nui loa!

November 11th, 2009

Imagine, if you will, a beautiful March day on the beaches of Hualalai.  The sun is warm and inviting as the sound of the surf lulls you into a deep, relaxed bliss, while ukuleles plink somewhere in the distance.  A large carved-out pineapple (complete with mini-umbrella) holds your foo-foo beach drink as you casually sip from it at your leisure.

Paradise.

With my leg draped over one side of my beach chair, I dip my toes into the sand allowing my cares to drift away as I feel a gentle nudge and voice that says to me, “They’re ready for you, Mr. Tegan.”

I pause and take one last deep breath before leaping up in unbridled excitement as I grab my camera gear and dash off to prepare for the wedding shoot of a lifetime.  THE biggest Hawaiian wedding shoot in Clark + Walker history.

In eager anticipation to do what it is that I love to do, I hear someone yell to me from behind, “Aloha nui loa!”  I turn and yell back, “Much love to you, too!”  In doing so, I notice that my mysterious well-wishing Hawaiian friend is silhouetted by the sun behind her, never allowing me to realize her true identity.

But alas my friends, this was to be but a dream for yours truly.  Being the new guy at Clark + Walker I’m only privy to the great stories I hear around the studio about the 2009 Hawaiian wedding of Farnaz + Jeff.  I’m certain, however, that my dream is EXACTLY how it would play out had I actually been there!  I’m also certain that Alisha, Luke and Chris’ stories differ very little from that of my imagination.

So why do I bring all of this up?  It seems that our good friend Ami Elizabeth at Elizabeth Anne Designs has sent us “Aloha nui loa” by featuring our work on their site!  We here at Clark + Walker are honored to be showcased and would like to share it with you, dear blog readers!
